Fumana is a contextual search software brand built for media teams working with large audiovisual archives. Its cloud product helps filmmakers, editors, post-production teams, broadcasters and other archive-heavy organisations find spoken words, visual moments and editorial context across hours of video and audio. Rather than relying on filenames or manual scrubbing, users can search dialogue, interviews and recordings by keywords, themes or meaning, and describe footage in everyday language to locate relevant shots. Hybrid search combines keyword and contextual matches, with optional AI-assisted ranking.
Fumana supports the editorial process from discovery through preparation: teams can review results at their source timecodes, play surrounding footage, compare refined or multilingual transcripts with original transcriptions, and collect selections in Clip Lists for export. Projects, sessions and source recordings can be organised so useful material remains connected to its context. The platform is available in the cloud, while secure local and on-premise deployment is in development and not yet generally available. Fumana is currently offered to selected teams and pilot users by request.
