About FUNBIO
FUNBIO is a non-profit civil association that has been working for over 26 years to conserve biodiversity in Brazil. They offer various programs and projects aimed at preserving the environment and promoting sustainability. FUNBIO collaborates with companies, governments, civil society, and academia to ensure the conservation of the future.
Some of their notable initiatives include the FLORESTA VIVA program, which focuses on the ecological restoration of Brazilian biomes using resources from the BNDES Socio-Environmental Fund and supporting institutions. They also have the Fundo da Amazônia Oriental, an innovative initiative for sustainable and low-carbon economy, and the CONSÓRCIO AMAZÔNIA LEGAL, which unites nine governments for sustainable development in the biome. In their 27 years of operation, FUNBIO has supported over 411 biodiversity conservation projects, benefiting around 305 institutions.
