Function Focused Therapy

Function Focused Therapy is a family-centred paediatric occupational therapy and early intervention provider supporting children aged 2 to 12. Based in Western Australia, the service offers community-based therapy in Ellenbrook, Bullsbrook and surrounding areas, as well as telehealth occupational therapy throughout Australia. Its mission is to provide neuroaffirming support that helps children participate and thrive in everyday life.

Therapy is tailored to each child’s interests, strengths and family routines. Sessions can take place at home or at school, and therapists work collaboratively with parents, recognising their expertise in understanding their child. The practice keeps therapist caseloads small to allow time for thoughtful, individualised care.

Function Focused Therapy supports children with emotional regulation, social skills, sensory processing, gross and fine motor development, coordination, handwriting, executive functioning and independence in self-care. This includes tasks such as toileting, bathing, dressing, feeding and brushing teeth. With experience in community and school settings, the team uses creative strategies to make therapy practical and accessible for families.
