The Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF) is dedicated to advocating for animal welfare through political action and public education. Their mission, encapsulated in the phrase "Get Political for Animals," involves working to enact and uphold animal protection laws at both state and federal levels. HSLF engages in a variety of initiatives to raise awareness about critical animal protection issues, support humane candidates for public office, and influence legislation that safeguards animals from cruelty and exploitation.

Their focus includes tracking significant legislation, such as the annual Humane Scorecard that evaluates the stance of federal legislators on animal welfare. HSLF also campaigns on pressing matters like banning animal testing, protecting wildlife habitats, and improving conditions for animals in research and agriculture. By mobilizing supporters and providing resources for advocacy, HSLF empowers individuals to take an active role in shaping a more humane society for animals across the United States.
