About Fundação AJU
Fundação A. J. U.
– Jerónimo Usera is a nonprofit private social solidarity institution serving vulnerable people and communities. Inspired by the “Amor de Deus” ethos, the foundation works to expand opportunities, uphold human dignity and support each person’s potential through ongoing social and community intervention. Its programs span childhood and youth, adult life and parenting, active ageing, and community integration.
Services include support for babies and families, youth development, sport and a toy library, as well as parenting and family initiatives, a senior club, social work, psychology, income-support services and family counselling. Community projects include a neighbourhood grocery, a baby bank, food events and shared meals. AJU also operates social enterprises, including the “A Ver o Parque” kiosk and 2nd Hand by AJU.
Through its projects, the foundation provides practical assistance and accompanies individuals and families, aiming to create connected, lasting support. Based in Alcabideche, Portugal, AJU works with professionals, volunteers and partners to deliver its programs and invites community members to contribute to its mission
