Fundación Asilo

The Fundación Asilo de Torrelavega is a social care organisation in Cantabria, Spain, with a history dating back to 1885. Founded to support vulnerable older people, it has grown into a network of five complementary foundations and specialised centres serving people across the region. Its work is guided by a commitment to dignity, professional care, compassion and the common good.

The foundation supports four groups: children and families facing vulnerability, older people, people with intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities, and older or ill priests. Services include reception and educational support for children, family assistance, residential care and day centres for older people, and specialised centres and inclusive projects designed to promote autonomy and wellbeing for people with disabilities. Priests receive residential, healthcare, human and spiritual support.

The organisation also shares news and activities from its centres and invites individuals and businesses to contribute through volunteering or donations, which help maintain and improve its services.
