Fundación Niños del Sol

Fundación Niños del Sol is a nonprofit organization founded in 2004 to welcome and support children who need care and stability. Based in Envigado, Colombia, it serves children living with HIV/AIDS, children of HIV-positive parents, and children considered at high risk and from low-income families. The foundation currently supports eleven children, helping meet essential needs including food, education, health care, housing, and recreation.

Its work extends beyond basic care through academic, recreational, social, and emotional support. Volunteers contribute their time and skills by helping with schoolwork, preparing meals, organizing activities and educational outings, and providing psychosocial guidance to the foundation’s leadership, caregivers, and volunteers. The organization invites people to contribute through donations, volunteering, or its Plan Padrino sponsorship program. Sponsorship is a voluntary relationship, not an adoption, and carries no legal connection between sponsor and child; sponsors may decide how long to participate. Fundación Niños del Sol aims to create a supportive environment for children through care, companionship, and community involvement.
