About Fundación Sidoc
Fundación Sidoc is a Colombian brand dedicated to promoting peacebuilding and violence prevention in different regions of Colombia, with a current focus on Cali and Buenaventura. Their mission is to provide second chances and opportunities to individuals affected by violence, helping them build autonomous and lawful lives. Fundación Sidoc offers various programs and initiatives to achieve their goals.
One key program is Forjar Oportunidades, which aims to create second chances for 200 vulnerable Afro-Colombian and indigenous youth in Buenaventura and Santander de Quilichao. Through this initiative, they support the construction of autonomous life projects by recognizing the potential within ethnic populations and leveraging their culture and customs for societal and economic productivity. Another significant initiative is Lazos para la Reconciliación, which focuses on promoting territorial peace, community coexistence, and reconciliation in Santander de Quilichao.
Through leadership and community participation, economic sustainability, and resilience-building, Fundación Sidoc aims to prevent victimization risks and combat stigmatization, with a gender equality approach. Fundación Sidoc also values the power of music and sports as tools for personal and social development. Their Orquesta sinfónica infantil y juvenil de Siloé provides children and youth in Cali's Comuna 20 with inclusive artistic spaces, fostering social inclusion and violence prevention through music education and psychosocial support.
Overall, Fundación Sidoc is committed to transforming lives and shaping a brighter future by offering second chances, promoting peace and reconciliation, and empowering vulnerable communities in Colombia
