Foundation EUROS – Wind from the East is a cultural and historical organization focused on preserving local heritage and sharing knowledge about communities and people connected with Nowy Sącz and the surrounding region. Its work brings together archival research, public education, commemoration, and practical efforts to protect historic sites. The foundation supports initiatives to save the Old Cemetery in Nowy Sącz and to commemorate the Jewish community of Małogoszcz, including cemetery clean-up, historical research, publications, and educational materials for local schools.
It has also contributed archival research to “Wartime Nowy Sącz,” a digital project documenting the city and region during the German occupation through historical records, testimonies, photographs, and other sources. In addition, EUROS organizes and supports public lectures and cultural projects concerning local history, including research into painter Bolesław Barbacki and his family. The foundation invites volunteers, people with relevant historical information, and donors to contribute to its work.
Its website provides updates on projects, information about the organization, and ways to help
