Fundacja na Maksa

Fundacja Na Maksa is a Polish foundation supporting families of children and young people with disabilities. Initially, it organised inclusive and rehabilitative holiday trips for entire families. As the young people it serves grew older and became more interested in sport, the foundation expanded its work by establishing a sports club for people with intellectual disabilities in the Lower Silesian region.

The club offers regular swimming training for a team of young athletes, focused on developing swimming technique and fitness; participants must already be able to swim 50 metres independently within two minutes. The foundation has also organised indoor cycling sessions for young people and their parents or carers, as well as general fitness activities. Some activities, including general training and a kayaking trip, are listed as concluded. To encourage inclusion and community participation, it also holds open events such as swimming competitions, kayaking trips and cycling outings. The club’s creation was co-funded through PFRON resources provided by the Lower Silesian regional government.
