Fundacja Pokolenia Kolumbów

Pokolenia Kolumbów Foundation is a Polish nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the memory, experiences and values of the “Generation of 1920,” including witnesses to the Warsaw Uprising and other defining events of twentieth-century Polish history. The foundation believes their knowledge and life lessons can help younger generations face contemporary challenges, and works to keep their stories present through educational, commemorative and community initiatives.

Its projects include BohaterON, which engages schools and young people with the history of the Warsaw Uprising, and “Kartka ze Szpitala,” an initiative for hospital, sanatorium and hospital-affiliated schools. The foundation also supports remembrance through events and campaigns, including shared singing in tribute to the uprising, historical storytelling, and Christmas packages for Warsaw insurgents. Its activities bring together educational institutions, cultural partners, volunteers and the public.

Based in Wrocław, with an additional branch in Warsaw, the foundation invites adults interested in Polish twentieth-century history and social service to volunteer. Through its programs, it connects historical memory with education, solidarity and practical support for people who need it.
