Funky Uptown Krewe is a New Orleans Twelfth Night club that celebrates the start of the Mardi Gras season with an annual ride aboard a St. Charles streetcar. Each January 6, the Krewe brings music, festivities, and a lively Carnival atmosphere to the avenue, inviting locals and visitors to join the celebration along the route.
Its streetcar is known for tossing vinyl records and featuring DJ Mannie Fresh, who has performed live from inside the car since 2019. The event begins at Bouree, where guests can enjoy a pre-party with the Kings of Brass, then travels down St. Charles Avenue toward downtown, with a stop at Care Forgot Beercraft and a loop around Harmony Circle before returning uptown.
The ride concludes at Fat Harry’s, where attendees can continue the festivities. Funky Uptown Krewe also shares event photos and videos through Instagram and offers sign-ups for updates and a waitlist for those interested in joining the Krewe
