Fuoriclasse Network

Fuoriclasse Network is an Italian school-based prevention initiative focused on identifying early signs of risk associated with illegal substance use among students in upper secondary schools. Its approach recognizes that all school staff, including teaching assistants and other non-teaching personnel, can play an important role in noticing signs of distress and supporting young people. The project provides targeted training and practical tools to help teachers and school staff recognize potential concerns and respond appropriately, in coordination with families.

Fuoriclasse also promotes stronger collaboration among students’ families, educators and school staff. Its planned activities include establishing a School Early Intervention Unit in participating institutions, bringing together teachers, support staff and parents; integrating school-family responsibilities into the educational agreement; developing a dedicated app for beneficiaries; and creating a shared protocol for managing cases of concern with relevant institutions. The initiative has involved secondary schools across several Italian regions, including Abruzzo, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Lombardy, Marche, Puglia, Sicily and Tuscany.
