The Furious Fourth is a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit living history association that brings the experiences of ordinary soldiers of the U.S. 4th Infantry Division during World War II to life. Its members interpret the lives and struggles of the division’s men and women, whose service included some of the war’s fiercest combat in Europe. The division was among the primary spearhead forces of Operation Overlord, landing at Utah Beach on June 6, 1944, and advancing across Europe.
The association shares this history through living history encampments, reenactments, film productions, school talks, and other educational initiatives, with events held throughout the mid-Atlantic. Emphasizing authenticity, The Furious Fourth goes beyond weapons and equipment to place personal experiences in the wider context of the Second World War. Its website offers historical resources covering the division’s journey from stateside training and life in England through Normandy, the push to Paris, the Hürtgen Forest, the Battle of the Bulge, the conquest of Germany, and the return home.
