Furry Friends Animal Shelter is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Barrie, committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and lost cats. As a no-kill shelter, Furry Friends provides a safe haven for over 500 cats and kittens each year, ensuring that healthy animals are never euthanized. Founded over 20 years ago, the shelter operates solely through donations and the tireless efforts of volunteers.

The shelter’s mission encompasses three main areas: rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming. They work closely with the community and other local organizations to rescue cats in distress, offering a safe refuge and necessary medical care such as vaccinations, spaying, and neutering. Furry Friends also focuses on socializing fearful cats, providing them with the love and attention needed to thrive. Once they are ready for adoption, the shelter collaborates with partners like PetSmart and Pet Valu to find ideal homes for these furry companions, while also reuniting lost cats with their families.
