It was established by a developer with experience as a 3D computer graphics artist, game designer, and scenario writer at a Tokyo-based game company. The studio aims to explore the potential of games as a creative medium, making experiences that engage people’s senses, intellect, and emotions.

Its projects include Artomaton, an iPhone and iPad app described as an artificial intelligence artist. Artomaton uses photographs and videos as the basis for pictures, then paints or draws them with a variety of artistic materials. futurala is also developing CultureHouse, a game inspired by biological cultivation experiments and 20th-century modernist architecture. The project is currently in development, with its themes bringing together ideas from science and architectural design. Through its games and applications, futurala focuses on distinctive creative concepts and interactive experiences, drawing on the founder’s background across visual art, game design, and storytelling.
