FutureNeuro is a groundbreaking SFI Research Centre dedicated to chronic and rare neurological diseases. With a mission to enable people with Neurological Diseases to live independently, FutureNeuro focuses on three main thematic areas: Diagnostics, Therapeutics, and eHealth.

In Diagnostics, FutureNeuro utilizes advanced informatics and nanomaterials technology to discover, detect, and interpret biomolecules from patients' samples in order to provide faster and more accurate diagnoses.

The Therapeutics research at FutureNeuro explores innovative treatments that target hyperexcitable and damaged brain networks, with the aim of stabilizing or recovering brain function.

In the field of eHealth, FutureNeuro aims to deliver a continuously learning and innovative healthcare system through the development and implementation of eHealth technologies.

FutureNeuro's research is conducted by a team of multi-disciplinary experts in neuroscience, clinical neurology, genetics, cell biology, materials chemistry, and patient data analytics. They collaborate with patient organizations, the health service, and industry partners to transform the lives of patients in Ireland and worldwide.

Currently, FutureNeuro focuses on epilepsy and ALS, but they have also started research on Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and other rare neurological diseases.
