Future Swimmers

Future Swimmers is a swim school based at 27 Chesterfield Road in Bryanston, Johannesburg, offering swimming lessons and age-specific water-safety programs for babies, children, and adults. Its small-group Learn to Swim classes help children develop water-safety skills, confidence, and comfort in the water. Learn to Stroke sessions focus on refining technique across the four strokes, while adult lessons support swimmers of all skill levels in building confidence, improving technique, and strengthening water-safety knowledge.

The Swim Safe programs combine swimming instruction with practical safety skills. Courses cover floating for babies, breath control, floating and kicking for toddlers, and the swim-float-swim foundation for children aged four and up. The adult program includes swimming techniques, basic rescue skills, and guidance for responding to emergencies. Course formats vary by age and program, with short, frequent lessons available.

The school is owned by Jason and Lauren Kyte. Jason brings experience as a former Springbok water polo player and national junior swimmer, while Lauren has extensive swimming-teaching experience and has run Future Steps Preschool for a decade. Future Swimmers shares a family connection with the Bryanston preschool, which follows the Montessori philosophy.
