Fuusje is a child-focused initiative that aims to make hospital visits a little brighter. Its cheerful, illustrated cover hangs over a child’s intravenous (IV) drip, helping the medical equipment feel less intimidating and giving children, parents, and caregivers something positive to share. Fuusje is designed in collaboration with nurses and created with illustrators.
Inside each cover, children find coloring pages, activities, and engaging questions that offer playful distraction during a hospital visit. The goal is to help children see medical equipment differently, enjoy a more cheerful experience, and leave with a positive memory. Fuusje is made from FSC-certified paper, reflecting the initiative’s attention to sustainability.
The organization invites hospitals and people with healthcare connections to get in touch and help introduce Fuusje to more children. Supporters can also donate to fund covers for children and hospital departments. Fuusje shares updates about its journey and news coverage, including its win in the Nationale-Nederlanden startup competition.
