FV Sommershausen

Fischereiverein Sommershausen e. V. is a fishing association in Sommershausen that combines recreational angling with active conservation of local waters and fish populations. Its work includes stocking, waterway maintenance and habitat measures, with a particular focus on protecting vulnerable species such as bitterling, barbel, nase and burbot. The association also monitors fish stocks through activities such as its traditional pike fishing survey and promotes awareness of challenges affecting aquatic wildlife.

Members take part in fishing events, workdays, meetings and seasonal community activities. The club supports young anglers through youth programs, including fishing camps, and provides information about joining and participating in association activities. Fishing permits are available to passive members through a local retailer, subject to the club’s arrangements.

The association also shares its catch with the community through seasonal fish specialties, including grilled and smoked fish and fish patties made from fish caught at club events. Through conservation, education and shared traditions, Fischereiverein Sommershausen brings together anglers and local residents around the care and enjoyment of fishing waters.
