About FWIO
The Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario (FWIO) have been bringing women together for over 125 years to learn, celebrate, and make positive changes in families and communities. Under the WI umbrella, women can join a supportive network where they can learn new skills, share expertise, and organize local events like art exhibits, garden tours, and tastings of chocolate, coffee, or wine. The FWIO also manages craft shows and baking competitions at local fairs, and their fundraising efforts have supported hospitals, schools, and volunteer fire departments.
Lifelong learning is promoted through the ROSE program and scholarships are funded. The FWIO's digital archives are a valuable resource, documenting daily life, events, and occasions in communities across Ontario, attracting visitors from around the world.
