About Folly Wildlife Rescue
Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust is a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife in West Kent, East Sussex and the surrounding area. Based in Broadwater Forest, the organisation has operated for more than 30 years, growing from a small home-based effort founded by Annette and Dave Risley into a specialist wildlife hospital. It provides care and treatment for native wildlife, including birds, hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers, foxes, deer, rodents, amphibians and other small animals.
The hospital is open for admissions every day of the year, although some admissions, including gulls and seabirds, swans, ducks and geese, are temporarily restricted under APHA guidance. Folly also shares out-of-hours advice and information about wildlife hazards, helping people respond when they find an injured, orphaned or distressed animal. Alongside hands-on rescue and rehabilitation, the Trust works to raise awareness of wildlife welfare and practical ways people can help.
Its work is supported by donations, volunteers, fundraising, events and community engagement, and continues the legacy of its founders through a dedicated team and supporters
