FWS

The Fachvereinigung Wärmepumpen Schweiz (FWS) is a leading technology association in the field of heat pumps. With over 440 corporate members, the FWS brings together expertise in the planning, installation, manufacturing, and delivery of heat pumps, ground source heat exchangers, laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards.

The heat pump is a heating and cooling device used in single-family homes to large-scale buildings such as airports, hotels, or administrative buildings. Since the positive popular vote on the Energy Act on May 21, 2017, the heat pump has become the center of reliable heat production and the replacement of fossil fuel heating systems that contribute to CO2 emissions.

The FWS has a strong commitment to quality assurance, which includes operational safety, reliability, energy efficiency, documentation in national languages, spare parts availability, and a customer service organization that can be on-site within 24 hours. Compliance with noise regulations and adherence to laws, regulations, and standards are also part of their quality focus.

The FWS provides a range of training and continuing education programs on technology, applications, and practical experience. These programs complement the contents of vocational schools, technical colleges, master's courses, and universities of applied sciences. The FWS always strives to address new needs that influence their course offerings.

In addition, the FWS offers various services to its members, including an electronic noise protection certificate provided by the cantons, a sound data directory displaying comparable values from different heat pump manufacturers, an overview of subsidy programs, and links for competent customer advice. All materials from FWS conferences are archived under the "Presentations" section.

The FWS has also developed an address portal where members can be identified and contacted. By filtering the members by category and canton, this portal provides a quick way to obtain information and advice specific to each region.

With the goal of achieving Swiss energy and climate targets, the FWS actively supports the "renewable heating" program. This program is aimed at building owners and installers and aims to promote the transition to renewable energy sources, particularly in heating. The FWS launched this program in collaboration with several partners during the Swissbau exhibition.

To ensure a high level of quality and ensure it for the future, the FWS has implemented a quality seal for heat pumps and ground source heat exchangers.
