Gabler-Stiftung

Gabler-Stiftung is a family foundation based in Obergünzburg, in Germany’s Allgäu region. Founded in 1990 by Rupert Gabler, it reflects his belief that art and the humanities provide a meaningful counterbalance to commercial life. For more than three decades, the foundation has supported the advancement of art, culture and science, with a particular commitment to its home region.

Its work includes backing exceptional initiatives and helping young, emerging talents gain recognition and opportunities to present their work. Through awards and projects, the foundation also supports outstanding individuals and contributes to a lively cultural and intellectual community. Its activities are guided by a sense of social responsibility and by values upheld across generations.

The foundation works with long-standing partners, including Gabler-Saliter-Bank and Töpfer Babywelt, combining deep family and regional roots with its commitment to the arts and sciences. Inspired by writer Wilhelm Busch’s description of art as “the adornment of the world,” Gabler-Stiftung aims to make a modest contribution to a diverse and harmonious society.
