GAFILAT, or the Grupo de Acción Financiera de Latinoamérica, is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising 18 countries across South and Central America, as well as North America. Established as a critical response to transnational threats such as money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, GAFILAT plays a pivotal role in fostering international cooperation in the fight against these crimes.

The organization promotes the implementation of standardized practices through its 40 Recommendations, ensuring that member countries adopt a unified approach to combating financial crimes that transcend borders. GAFILAT also facilitates collaboration among its members through structured Working Groups, which are composed of representatives from the participating nations and supported by an Executive Secretariat. These groups focus on creating vital resources for annual action plans and strategic objectives.

Additionally, GAFILAT provides resources such as a virtual library and training through its Campus, aimed at enhancing compliance and awareness among professionals and educational institutions within the region.
