Gafta, the Grain and Feed Trade Association, is an international trade association with a rich history dating back to 1878. With over 1900 members in 100 countries, Gafta's mission is to promote international trade in agricultural commodities, spices, and general produce, while protecting the interests of its members worldwide. Originally known as the London Corn Trade Association (LCTA), Gafta was formed by members of the corn trade to safeguard their interests.

They accomplished this by establishing standard forms of contracts and settling disputes through arbitration. In 1906, a group of traders branched off from LCTA to create the London Cattle Food Trade Association (LCFTA) for those involved in trading vegetable proteins as animal feed. Over time, the association expanded its scope and, in 1971, the Grain and Feed Trade Association was formed through a merger between LCTA and CFTA.

Gafta offers various services to its members, including arbitration, membership directory, training programs, events, trade policy updates, and trade assurance. They also provide approved registers, such as analysts, fumigators, and superintendents, ensuring the highest quality standards in the industry. Gafta's commitment to sustainability is evident through their Sustainability Pledge and their active participation in addressing key trade policy issues.
