The Groundwater Association of KwaZulu-Natal (GAKZN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the interests of all members of the groundwater industry in the province. Acting as a conduit for the transfer and dissemination of scientific and technical data, as well as groundwater information, the GAKZN connects industry members, regulating authorities, water service authorities, water service suppliers, consultants, and the general public. The association's main objective is to preserve the groundwater infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal, ensuring the long-term accessibility and safe practices of this vital resource.

Regular forums and quarterly meetings provide a platform for industry-related discussions, where leading authorities and members openly interact. These gatherings also facilitate networking opportunities and the sharing of industry standards. Since its inception in 1995/1996, the GAKZN has played a significant role in promoting groundwater and information-sharing among its members.

The association has various divisions, including consultants, drillers, pump-testers and installers, and suppliers, with additional divisions introduced in subsequent years. Despite the loss of its founding chairman, the GAKZN continues to thrive under the capable leadership of its dedicated executive committee and members.
