Galerie Blankenese is an art gallery located on Blankeneser Hauptstraße in Hamburg, with a history dating back to 1968, when Ellen Peter and artist Heinz Peter opened an atelier-gallery in the neighborhood. The gallery moved to its current address in 1970 and adopted the name Galerie Blankenese in 1977. Over the years, it has presented established and emerging artists, introducing some young artists to the public and showcasing works associated with the Viennese School.
The gallery offers changing exhibitions featuring oil paintings, watercolours, gouaches, prints and sculptures. Its artist roster has included Curt Gröper, Heinz Peter, Albert Feser and Ramon Neckelmann, among many others. Current programming includes an exhibition of works by Martin Stommel, created in Hamburg, scheduled from 11 October to 8 November 2026. Visitors can explore the exhibitions at the gallery or arrange a visit by telephone. Galerie Blankenese combines a long-standing connection to Hamburg’s art scene with a varied programme focused on presenting artists and their work.
