Galerie Zaiss

Galerie Zaiß is a contemporary art gallery in Aalen, Germany, founded in 1986 by Sigi and Werner Zaiß. Its beginnings were closely connected to Werner Zaiß’s printmaking studio, where he created etchings, woodcuts and linocuts. Initially focused on works by the founders and artists in their circle, the gallery later broadened its programme and now presents contemporary art from southwest Germany and Alsace.

The gallery’s collection and exhibitions span painting, original prints, objects, three-dimensional art and sculpture. Featured artists have worked in a wide range of media, including ceramics, drawing, collage, paper objects and garden sculpture. Galerie Zaiß presents several solo and group exhibitions each year at its Langertstraße premises and at selected venues elsewhere. It has also taken part in art Karlsruhe, introducing its artists and their work to a wider audience. The gallery’s programme has included established and emerging creative voices, with exhibitions that bring together contrasting styles, materials and perspectives.
