Laffanour | Galerie Downtown is a Paris gallery founded by François Laffanour and devoted to twentieth-century furniture created by architects and designers. Since opening in the early 1980s, it has explored and presented this field through exhibitions, helping bring wider attention to furniture shaped by the postwar search for freedom, practicality and a new way of living. The gallery works with the archives of Galerie Steph Simon, which exhibited and published furniture by Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, Le Corbusier, Serge Mouille, Georges Jouve and Isamu Noguchi from 1956 to 1974.
Its collection and programme feature these figures alongside Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Royère, Pierre Paulin, Ron Arad and many others.
