PIDGalinos

GALINOS is a nonprofit Greek association founded by people living with primary immunodeficiencies. Known by its full name, the Panhellenic Association of Patients with Immunodeficiencies, it represents its members at national, European and international levels. Its work focuses on improving understanding of primary immunodeficiencies among the public and medical community, and supporting people affected by these conditions.

The association offers moral, practical and scientific support, as well as protection and assistance to patients. It also researches the social impact of the disease on patients and the communities in which they live. To help improve everyday quality of life, GALINOS shares information and develops proposals and initiatives intended to reduce the condition’s negative effects.

Its activities include awareness campaigns, public events, conferences, media interviews and collaboration with other patient organisations. Topics have included World Primary Immunodeficiency Week, immunology awareness, patient-centred care and the effects of COVID-19 on blood donation. GALINOS is a member of the Hellenic Patients’ Association and a full member of IPOPI, and is also an associate member of EURORDIS.
