Gallery 144 is a contemporary art gallery located at 144 Commonwealth Street in Surry Hills, Sydney. Formerly known as Outsider Gallery, it adopted its current name in February 2026 as part of the next stage in its evolution and an expansion of its curatorial program. The gallery presents curated exhibitions featuring emerging and established Australian and international artists, alongside artist talks and collectible artworks.
Its program includes exhibitions such as Heath Nock’s Roamer, scheduled for 30 October to 28 November 2026. Gallery 144 also offers selected works for purchase, including John Aslanidis’s Sonic no. 103, a signed, limited-edition A1 giclée print on 310gsm acid-free cotton rag paper, produced in an edition of 20 and offered with free worldwide shipping.
Visitors can explore the gallery’s exhibitions, artists, stockroom, news and other information online. The gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday, from 10am to 5pm, or by appointment. It invites visitors to join its monthly newsletter for exhibition opening invitations and updates on artists and new shows
