Galveston Arts Center is a non-profit organization that has been at the forefront of contemporary art in the region since 1986. Situated in the historic First National Bank building, which was generously donated by the Junior League of Galveston County, this center has become the primary hub for art education, exhibitions, and public festivals in an eight-county area spanning between Houston, Corpus Christi, and Beaumont. Following a period of relocation due to damage from Hurricane Ike in 2008, Galveston Arts Center underwent extensive restoration and now stands more beautiful than ever.
Its mission to showcase the best of contemporary art remains steadfast, thanks to continuous support from organizations such as the Moody Foundation, the Harris and Eliza Kempner Foundation, and the Brown Foundation. Inside the center, visitors will find an array of captivating exhibitions, art classes, and community engagement programs for all ages. Whether you are an art enthusiast, a budding artist, or simply someone curious about the transformative power of art, Galveston Arts Center welcomes you with open doors and free admission.
