Gambaro e Tagliapietra

Gambaro & Tagliapietra is a Murano glass studio based in Murano, Venice, with a history spanning more than forty years. Led by master glassmaker Matteo Tagliapietra, the studio creates handmade artistic glass objects that combine the island’s traditional craftsmanship with ongoing experimentation in form, colour and technique. Its collection ranges from bowls, vases, plates, animals, candlesticks, table lamps, carafes and glasses to sculptures and exclusive, limited-edition pieces for collectors.

The studio works with established Murano techniques, including murrine, gold leaf, incalmo, balloton and sommerso, while also exploring contemporary designs and distinctive material combinations. Each piece is made by hand, inspected and authenticated with Tagliapietra’s signature engraved in the glass, and supplied with a label and guarantee certifying its quality and origin. Gambaro & Tagliapietra belongs to the Promovetro consortium and is authorised to use the “Vetro Artistico di Murano” mark, granted to furnaces producing on Murano. Its work reflects a commitment to preserving local glassmaking while creating distinctive objects for modern tastes.
