Gambrinus is a landmark restaurant in Lisbon’s Baixa district, welcoming guests since 1936. Known for its comfortable, elegant atmosphere and traditional Portuguese cuisine, it has become a multigenerational dining destination and a setting for notable social, political and economic moments in the city. Following a renovation and expansion in 1964, designed by architect Maurício de Vasconcelos, Gambrinus established its reputation as a luxury restaurant. Its interiors combine Portuguese artistic details, antiques, porcelain, exotic woods and period furnishings.

Guests can choose between two dining rooms or the more relaxed Bar, where lighter meals are served with the same focus on quality and attentive service. The Sala Grande seats 80 and features a tapestry by artist Sá Nogueira and stained-glass works; the more intimate Sala Pequena seats 30. Menu highlights include rich fish soup, partridge pie and Eisbein with sauerkraut, alongside fresh fish, seafood and Portuguese specialties. Desserts include Crepes Suzette, hazelnut mousse and vanilla soufflé. Gambrinus welcomes diners daily from 12 noon to midnight and accepts reservations.
