Cape Game Skin is a tannery and taxidermy business based in Fisantekraal, Durbanville, near Cape Town. Its team of in-house tanners and taxidermists works with hunters, farmers, butchers and the general public, preserving trophies and hides with care. The company offers hair-on tanning for game skins such as zebra, springbok, kudu and wildebeest, as well as cowhide, Nguni, sheep and goat skins.
Its taxidermy services include shoulder and full mounts, custom pieces, and European skull mounts that are cleaned, whitened and finished on shields. Cape Game Skin also provides dip-and-pack services for visiting hunters, trophy collection enquiries, hide restoration and custom décor made from skins or customers’ own trophies. The business sells individually selected, locally tanned hair-on skins and decorative pieces, with availability confirmed on request.
Customers can bring hides to the tannery, ask about collection, and receive advice on preparing and salting them. A member of SATTA, Cape Game Skin completes its tanning and mounting work in-house
