Garnet & Black is a student-run magazine and publication of Student Media at the University of South Carolina. Formed in 1994 through the consolidation of the university’s former yearbook and literary magazine, it serves readers across the USC and Columbia communities. Its mission is to provide fair and accurate information and fresh perspectives, with particular attention to voices that are underserved and underrepresented. The magazine also offers student journalists and creatives a platform to explore ideas and question the status quo.
Garnet & Black publishes coverage across features, lifestyle, style, viewpoints and happenings, alongside editorial content.
