About Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
The Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) is a professional association dedicated to representing the interests of licensed and Registered Dietitians and Nutritionists in Ghana. Our mission is to advance nutritional knowledge and practice for the betterment of the community's overall well-being. GAND is the result of a merger between the Ghana Dietetic Association (GDA) and the Ghana Nutrition Association (GNutA), with the goal of creating a stronger and more influential force to shape national discussions, policies, collaborations, and the visibility of nutrition in Ghana and beyond.
Our membership includes registered dietitians, registered nutritionists, scientists, practitioners, and students with relevant qualifications in nutrition, dietetics, or food science. With over 500 credentialed practitioners, GAND is committed to promoting optimum nutritional health through practice, research, education, and advocacy. Our goal is to represent highly skilled professionals who provide credible sources of nutrition and food information, ensuring high standards of practice and advocating for optimal nutrition.
