Gandy Bagpiping Foundation

The Gandy Bagpiping Foundation is a charitable initiative that creates opportunities for learners and supports the development of bagpipers, particularly through scholarships and educational experiences. Founded on the hope of helping students progress, the Foundation has grown with community support and provides assistance to deserving piping students across North America. Its grants can help cover tuition, additional instruction, summer schools and attendance at major competitions, enabling students to build their skills and deepen their understanding of piping.

The Foundation also supports learning opportunities such as Sound Advice, a summer school organized by the Saskatchewan Pipe Band Association. Recent scholarship recipients from prairie communities have used funding to attend the program and learn from experienced instructors. The Foundation welcomes support through donations, volunteering and community ideas, and offers recurring monthly contribution options. One of its early fundraising projects was Front Row Seat, a CD featuring live piobaireachd performances by Bruce Gandy, with proceeds helping fund its work.
