Ganseki Kai

Ganseki Kai is a Rio de Janeiro association dedicated to teaching and promoting traditional Aikido. Founded in 2005 by Walter Amorim Sensei, it has developed a community of dojos and practitioners, offering technical and administrative guidance to members and supporting instructors in their teaching. Its practice follows Aikikai traditions and draws on the influence of Brazilian and international teachers. The association describes its work as maintaining consistent technical standards, supporting rank requirements aligned with Japan’s Aikikai Hombu Dojo, and encouraging the study and development of Aikido.

Ganseki Kai welcomes newcomers as well as experienced students, inviting prospective members to visit a dojo, observe training, speak with instructors, and try introductory classes without commitment. Training opportunities include regular Aikido practice and scheduled weapons classes, with additional monthly sessions announced as available. The organization also supports practitioner gatherings and shares educational material on Aikido history, technique, etiquette, philosophy, and related topics. Its website provides information about associated dojos, membership guidance, examination requirements, fees, and enrollment.
