Garbaye is a brand that provides services and products in the field of self-hosting and free software. Founded in the summer of 2020 by Guillaume and Loïc, who have years of experience in administering self-hosted and open-source services, Garbaye aims to offer high-quality services that address the limitations faced in the industry. One of the core principles of Garbaye is the use of free software, including open licenses, protocols, and file formats.

This ensures the protection of users' rights and freedoms while actively contributing to the improvement of free software. Garbaye also promotes the practice of self-hosting, which involves providing digital services directly from home using a standard internet connection. Embracing simplicity, decentralization, and independence from third parties, Garbaye offers a viable alternative to traditional service providers.

Moreover, Garbaye recognizes the environmental impact of the digital industry and emphasizes the use of second-hand hardware to minimize waste. Additionally, they avoid using resource-heavy software to maximize the efficient use of available resources. Currently, Garbaye operates as an informal citizen association, limiting their capacity to deploy new services or accommodate all requests.

However, their website provides a list of available services. As a self-funded entity, Garbaye covers its operating expenses, mainly electricity, and relies on the financial support of individuals who have the means to contribute. Alternatively, users can support other well-structured organizations in the field, such as CHATONS or Framasoft.

Garbaye offers a unique approach to self-hosting and free software, prioritizing quality, sustainability, and user empowerment
