Gardeboefeesten is an annual community festival held in Oekene, Belgium, bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate local traditions through music, food, parades, and activities. The event’s 52nd edition is scheduled for September 17–20, 2026, at Dorpsplein Oekene, with a varied program designed for families and festivalgoers. Activities include a children’s afternoon with a magic show and disco, a cycling championship, a traditional opening parade, a summer bar, and live performances spanning rock, chanson, and popular music.
The festivities also feature Oktoberfest, a barbecue, a cycling blessing, and events at local venues. Several program segments offer free admission, while tickets are available for selected events. A collective shuttle service, De Link, provides rides within 10 kilometers of Oekene from 10 a.
m. to 3 a. m.
The festival began in 1975 and has grown from a simple gathering into a multi-day celebration shaped by local residents and associations. Its traditional parade now returns at each five-year anniversary edition, continuing a cherished part of Oekene’s cultural life
