Gards

Cooperativa Gards ARL is an environmental education and science communication cooperative based in Aprica, in Italy’s Lombardy region. It works with communities to strengthen understanding of the natural world and encourage sustainable practices through engaging, accessible learning experiences. Its programs serve a range of audiences, including schoolchildren, adults, schools, and organized groups.

The cooperative offers interactive environmental workshops and educational projects, as well as guided nature excursions led by Environmental Hiking Guides. These visits introduce participants to local ecosystems and biodiversity while highlighting the importance of conservation. Gards also organizes training courses and workshops on environmental topics, and provides public talks, multimedia presentations, and educational classroom activities that help make scientific and environmental concepts easier to understand.

Its services are available primarily in Valtellina, in the province of Sondrio, with activities elsewhere possible by request. Cooperativa Gards also welcomes collaboration with businesses and individuals interested in environmental initiatives.
