CAI Garfagnana is the “Roberto Nobili” section of the Italian Alpine Club, based in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Tuscany. Founded in 1986, it is a local Third Sector organisation dedicated to mountain activities, outdoor exploration and care for the surrounding territory. The section organizes hikes and other excursions in the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, alongside mountain biking, trips and cultural activities.
Its programme also includes youth mountaineering and speleology through its SpeleoClub. Members and visitors can find information about local trails, report damage or obstructions, and learn about trail maintenance and safety. CAI Garfagnana shares details about mountain refuges in both the Apuan Alps and the Apennines, and provides information about mountain rescue.
