About Gasparilla Tampa
Gasparilla is a Tampa tradition centered on a series of pirate-themed events organized by EventFest, Inc. and rooted in the history of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla. For more than a century, the Krewe has brought its swashbuckling celebrations to residents and visitors, making Gasparilla one of the city’s signature festivities.
The program includes Ashley Children’s Gasparilla, a family-oriented day featuring a Preschooler’s Stroll, an air show, a parade with themed floats, dance performances, marching bands, and a finale. The Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest draws hundreds of thousands of revelers to celebrate the Krewe’s capture of the key to the City, followed by a parade along Bayshore Boulevard. The season also includes the Outbound Voyage, when the Krewe boards the Jose Gasparilla II for a final sail and welcomes local pediatric cancer survivors in downtown Tampa.
