Gastoudercollectief KIND is a small, Netherlands-wide childminding collective based in Leeuwarden, with a focus on the north of the country. Founded by Jolieke and Esmaralda, it connects families with “naturally green” childminders and supports providers in creating personal, sustainable, small-scale childcare. The collective’s approach centers on children’s individual needs, natural and unconditional parenting, and warm, safe settings where children can develop at their own pace.

KIND encourages outdoor experiences and activities that help children explore nature and the changing seasons through play. It also promotes conscious, sustainable choices in childcare and provides active guidance to its affiliated childminders. For parents, the bureau helps find a childcare place that feels compatible with home life, where children can feel secure, be themselves, and follow their natural rhythms.

Beyond matching families and providers, KIND fosters a supportive community in which parents and childminders can learn from and encourage one another. The organisation also shares information about its vision, policies, inspection reports, and complaints procedure, and welcomes enquiries from families and prospective childminders.
