About Gasworks
Gasworks Arts Park, located in Albert Park, Melbourne, is a dynamic arts precinct that offers a wide range of high-quality arts programs, workshops, and activities for all ages. Situated on the former site of the South Melbourne Gas Plant, Gasworks boasts an impressive four hectares of parkland, two theatres, three gallery spaces, a café, as well as function and workshop spaces. With sixteen resident visual artists and a dedicated team of professionals, Gasworks presents an annual program that includes festivals, events, farmers' markets, classes, workshops, and creative and professional development opportunities for artists.
Each year, Gasworks hosts over 200 performing arts events and 30 visual arts exhibitions, making it a vibrant hub for artistic expression. Its iconic high brick wall creates an urban oasis, shielding the park from traffic noise and providing a backyard for those without one.
