GAVS TORINO

GAVS Torino, or Gruppo Amici Velivoli Storici, is an Italian group dedicated to historic aircraft and aviation heritage. Its website presents the organization’s restoration work, documenting completed projects and restorations in progress involving aircraft, engines, and aviation equipment. It also shares information about aviation history, including early milestones such as Faccioli’s first flight and the first Turin–Trieste air route.

The group’s activities extend to public events and exhibitions. Featured topics include the centenary of Turin Airport and Aeritalia, the centenary of SIAI, historic aircraft displays, and appearances at events such as Automotoretrò and the Paris-Le Bourget aerospace exhibition. Visitors can explore media and historical material through sections devoted to “Ali Antiche” and “Ali Piccole,” as well as articles, videos, and prints.

GAVS Torino also connects readers with other aviation and heritage organizations, museums, and collections in Italy, including the Gianni Caproni Aeronautics Museum, Volandia, and the Italian Air Force Historical Museum. The site serves as an information hub for restoration projects, aviation history, and related events.
