About Gazelle Mail
Gazelle Mail is a privacy-focused email service designed for developers, combining encrypted inboxes with tools for integrating email into applications and workflows. Its zero-knowledge, end-to-end encryption derives keys locally, so the company says it cannot access users’ plaintext messages. The service provides a REST and IMAP API, a complete OpenAPI specification, and SDKs for Node, Python, Go, and Ruby. Developers can also use the gz command-line interface to manage inboxes and aliases or monitor webhooks.
Additional features include disposable email aliases with configurable expiration times, webhooks for routing incoming mail into applications, and an SMTP relay for sending transactional email without operating a mail server. Gazelle Mail supports custom domains and offers data residency options in the US, EU, and multiple regions. Organizations can self-host the full stack using Docker or Kubernetes under an MIT license. The service advertises delivery latency below 100 milliseconds, a 99.99% uptime SLA, no third-party trackers, and a free tier priced at $0 per month. It is currently presented as a private beta.
