GB1 is the proud challenger from Britain in the famed America's Cup, representing the Royal Yacht Squadron Ltd as the Challenger of Record. Originally established as Athena Racing by Sir Ben Ainslie in 2014, the team transitioned from its initial identity as Land Rover BAR and has since made significant strides within the sailing community. Competing at the 2024 Louis Vuitton America's Cup, GB1 has already etched its name in history by becoming the first British team in six decades to reach the America's Cup Match and clinch the Challenger Series title.

Under the leadership of Sir Ben Ainslie, alongside a skilled team that includes CEO Ian Walker and Head of Design Nick Holroyd, GB1 is dedicated to not just victory, but also fostering future generations of sailors through its Athena Pathway program. This initiative emphasizes inclusion with dedicated youth and women’s teams, demonstrating GB1's commitment to elevating British sailing excellence as they aim to bring the esteemed trophy back to its historic roots at the Royal Yacht Squadron.
